February 16th, 1918 marks the birth of modern Lithuania, a democratic state based on the principles of freedom, equality, and prosperity.
Lithuanian organizations throughout the world are celebrating this centennial event. The biggest event in San Diego celebrating this important date will be a commemoration/concert Saturday, March 10th at 3:30 pm, co-sponsored by the House of Lithuania and the Lithuanian-American Community of San Diego.
The program will include:
- Keynote speaker Darius Gaidys, Consul General of Lithuania in Los Angeles
- Concert by Los Angeles Lithuanian men's singing ensemble "Tolimi Aidai"
- After the concert, coffee and Lithuanian desserts
We will be accepting donations at the door to help cover the event expenses.
